The Birth And Beginning... Determination.

Every good story has a good beginning, maybe this will live up to the expectations, maybe it won't. We live in a house and one day a bird decided that it wanted to live with us. So we had come home one day and went out back and the bird built a next right on top of the porch door. My significant other decided that it was not a good spot and removed the nest, but the bird was far from deterred. It tried to rebuild the next directly on top of the back door but there was not enough room, so it rebuilt the nest again on top of the porch door.

It lived there for a while and laid two eggs, the problem was that there was nothing preventing the door from moving because it was not on a ledge but directly on the door itself. Before we had a chance to relocate the nest to a ledge or secure the door, a wind storm came through and blew the nest off and broke both eggs. The bird did not give up or get deterred once again, but instead decided the front of the house was a better location. Why a bird would want to use our entrances to our home as a location to reside in itself is interesting since there are hundreds of trees in the acre of land around our house. Maybe she liked company, though she would fly off anytime we entered or exited the home. This bird had spent countless amounts of time working on this nest.

So finally she rebuilt again this time on the ledge above the front door. She laid another egg and this time, one day when I came home from work the egg was broken on the door step. We gather that another bird mush have tried to take the egg as food and it fell out and broke. This poor bird has worked for now 4 weeks to build 3 full nests, attempt to build 3 other nests and laid 3 eggs only to have everything ruined time and time again.  The bird's determination to cohabitate with us in our environment is amazing in itself, despite failing multiple times.

It has now been another year. A bird has come back and tried building a nest on the back door where both eggs were laid and shattered. Is it the same bird? This bird is dedicated and determined to cohabitate with us. Determination is undeterrable sometimes! Determination requires focus. Focus is how you succeed in life. Be the BEST.
